There are several MUST DO things in Lake George.  These are things that we do every time we vacation there, and we never get tired of.  The Lake George Carriage Rides are on this list.  No matter how many times we go on the carriage ride, we never get tired of it.  There is just something special about being pulled around the water front in a horse drawn carriage.  Each tour travels a two mile loop, along Beach Road, and and Brook Road.  The ride starts in front of the Fort William Henry Commons, in the municipal parking lot on Beach Road, and travels South-East out of the parking lot, and along Beach Road.  You then turn South-West onto Brook Street, past Beach Road Miniature Golf, and the old Gaslight Village amusement park to the intersection with Canada Street.  The carriage then turns around, and heads North-East on Brook Road, past the old Movie Stars House of Wax Museum, and the Lake George Battleground park, before turning South-East on Beach Road again.  The tour continues on Beach Road to the Million Dollar Beach, where you travel around the traffic circle at the beach parking lot, and head North-West again on Beach Road.  Soon you are passing the Million Dollar beach again, then the Steel Pier, and the public boat docks before making another U-Turn just before Canada Street, and winding up back in front of the Fort William Henry Commons.  The whole ride takes about 20 minutes, and gives you a great view of the area.  In addition, the drivers narrate the tour with some information about the area.  This is another attraction that seems to be even more fun at night, and the kids love it as much as the adults do.  The carriage rides are located directly in front of the Fort William Henry Commons, in the municipal parking lot on Beach Road.  To get more information, give them a call at (518) 668-4958, or visit their website.
